В этой книге автор (и биохимик, и философ) пытается рассмотреть саму природу возникновения раковых опухолей не с традиционно принятых сегодня в биологии и медицине молекулярно-генетических позиций, а со стороны нарушения обмена веществ и межклеточных взаимоотношений внутри ткани. В соответствии с предлагаемой гипотезов главной причиной появления в организме раковых клеток является не возникновение мутации, а нарушения в системе регуляции роста и развития нормальной ткани. Важно, что гипотеза Черезова позволяет объяснить ряд противоречий между экспериментальными фактами и общепринятыми гипотезами канцерогенеза. Приведу еще две коротких цитаты из рецензий на эту книгу.

'В работе автор акцентирует внимание на тканевом аспекте процессов канцерогенеза. Его утверждение, что тканевый гомеостаз является ключевым фактором канцерогенеза, вполне справедлив и не вызывает возражений' (профессор Л.С.Ягужинский)

'Одним из существенных преимуществ 'тканевой' концепции канцерогенеза является то, что она в принципе даёт бОльшие профилактические и лечебные возможности, является более 'оптимистической' (профессор Г.Х.Шингаров)

От себя добавлю, что за 10 лет, прошедших с момента выхода этой книги, по крайней мере часть предположений гипотезы Черезова нашли свое подтверждение в научных работах, опубликованных в последние годы.
