Type designer ho was born in London in 1943. Dave Farey runs Housestyle Graphics with Richard Dawson in London. They "developed and repaired" type such as The Times, McDonalds (the company), CWS Script and Din Display.

David Farey was well-known for running the successful auctions at many ATypI meetings. His typefaces for various foundries:

Panache Typography: the artsy face Cupid, Azbuka (sans family).
ITC: ITC Beesknees (1991), the sans-serif family ITC Highlander (1993), ITC Ozwald (1992, a beautiful fat face), ITC Johnston, and ITC Golden Cockerel family (1996, with Richard Dawson, an Eric Gill revival). The former three are part of the Linotype library. ITC Beesknees has been remade and extended by Nick Curtis as Arbuckle Remix (2008).
Agfa: Zemestro (2003, a 4-weight sans). His Creative Alliance faces: Abacus (art nouveau), Blackfriar, Bodoni Unique, Breadline Normal, Cachet, Cavalier, Classic, Cupid, Font Outline, Gabardine, ITC Golden Cockerel, Greyhound Script, ITC Johnston, Little Louis, Longfellow, Maigret (art nouveau), Revolution Normal, Stanley, Stellar, Virgin Roman Normal (art nouveau), Warlock.
Galapagos: Ersatz (2002, with Richard Dawson, at Galapagos, originally done at Panache).
HouseStyle Graphics: ClassicFranklin family (2000-2001).
FontHaus: Aries (1995), a font designed by Eric Gill (1932).
Monotype: Azbuka (2008-2009): a 20-style sans family by Richard Dawson and David Farey.
Elsner&Flake: Caslon EF Black.
OEM work: TimesClassic (2000-2001) for The London Times.

TUOS Blake and TUOS Stephenson (Version 1.002 , 2004) - custom fonts for The University Of Sheffield

The Stephenson serif font is a modified version of a design by Sheffield company Stephenson & Blake Co. Typefounders, established in 1818. At the height of Sheffield's power as a producer of steel, Stephenson & Blake was the world´s largest manufacturer of metal type.
Sir Henry Stephenson, co-owner, was one of the University's founding fathers. In 1895, he became part of a hugely important movement that saw the wealthy and the powerful join forces with the ordinary working people of the city to create a university for the good
of everyone.
Stephenson and its sans serif companion Blake, were chosen with the assistance of the National Type Museum in London and redrawn for us by renowned type experts House Style Graphics. In their modernised, digitised form, they are the copyright property of the University of Sheffield - our unique signature, our hallmark, our stamp.

The Azbuka family has its roots in a fairly pedestrian source. “The idea came in part from an old sign in London that read SPRINKLER STOP VALVE,” says Dave Farey, designer of the typeface. In Prague a number of years later, the street signs reminded Farey of the London signage - and his camera came out again. The two sources served as the foundation for a no-frills, 21st century typeface with industrial 20th century roots.
