1.098 01/18/07

1.097 12/18/06
minor bug fix pertaining to disabling the aquarium on multiple monitors.

1.094 11/26/06
official release of the new "Soft Rock" tank. Not entirely finalized yet but good enough for now.
Other features include the following additions/changes to the "expert settings" (available through the 'settings' button in Display Properties / Screensaver tab):
added hardware antialiasing support. Though this is not finalized, those with a good graphics cards may want to try this. If supported it will improve the look of the fish. If not, it may result in extreme slowdown or a blank display. I will work on improving the sensing/support.
moved the 'save changes to tanks' from 'more stuff' to the 'expert settings' dialog
added a global fish scaler which scales fish across all tanks so users can adjust fish sizes to suit the scale of their display

1.073 10/23/06
fixed and/or added logging to several bugs.

1.072 10/19/06
Added extra log output to try to track down a bug
Added mouse option in "more stuff" to prevent exit on mouse click

1.070 10/05/06
Improved several fish and fixed crab-related crash bug

1.061 10/02/06
Added a labidochromis cichlid, archerfish, and narrow-wedge harlequin

1.051 9/25/06
Added a demasoni cichlid, killifish and bosemani rainbow
reworked the kribensis

1.040 8/09/06
Improvements in crab behavior including grabbing at the fish!
Crab now scavenges area where food has hit the ground
Fixed bug that was turning crab around
Fixed light rays issue where they could be turned on when in zoom mode
Fixed issue in which fish would be clipped by distant grass.

1.037 7/31/06
Various improvement and options have been added.
The crab now appears in the "Add Fish" list, and he can be deleted from the tank.
the ability to turn the light rays off. The reason i've added this is for older graphics cards that really get slammed by the transparency.
reworked bubble speeds.
Have reworked the fish-deleting methodology so that it pops up the delete screen when you hit 'delete' or 'backspace'
Now when you select "Add new tank" from the sequencer, it goes to the 'change tank' page so you can pick which one to add.
A "more stuff" option to lock the current tanks, preventing changes from being saved, the idea being to prevent co-workers from messing with your looks.
A "more stuff" option to change DA's run priority. Previously it's been set to 'below normal' (the current default) but it can now be raised up.

1.035 7/25/06
A fiddler crab has been added to the tank inhabitants.

1.025 7/4/06
The long-awaited sound has been added to the aquarium. Hit 'a' for the audio control panel which will bring up a mixer by which you can change the ratio of trickles and bubbles in the sound. You can also click on the sound names to change them. Currently with 2 trickle sound options.

1.020 6/21/06
Reworked the aquarium's texture maps and improved contrast. Moss-bottom tank now has some rocks and grassy background. Also fixed some of the zoom-mode graphics artifacts.

1.018 6/9/06
Added a gravel substrate option for 'moss angeles' tank. Improved wood branch appearance and texture crispness.

1.017 5/26/06
Fixed a bug where the delete key wasn't deleting fish.

1.016 5/25/06
The sequencer's key mappings have been set so that page up/down cycles through the tank setups.

1.015 5/24/06
The new sequencer is finally ready for prime time... i hope! Hit the 's' key or enter it via the menu. There you can add or delete tanks, and stock them any way you like. Changes to any tank will be saved automatically. This opens up new possiblities - now you don't have to cram all the different species into one tank.

1.007 5/9/06
4 new fish!! includes a ramirezi cichlid, a congo tetra, torpedo barb and an orange swordtail (male)

1.0006 4/26/06
Nothing major, fixed some minor bugs including the autofeeder.

1.0005 4/21/06
Added auto-feeding at varing intervals (more stuff page). Also added a laptop power mode that checks if running off battery and will either run the screensaver, ignore the screensaver, or turn off your display (more stuff page). Right mouse button now toggles the menu on and off. Fixed the bug that caused fish to swim off into the wild blue yonder causing a "bad matrix" error. Also, when in display properties / screensaver the preview only shows a little still instead of running the aquarium - it caused some complications.

Please check and let me know if all of these things work, especially the preview and the laptop batter mode.

1.0003 4/19/06
Fish are now limited from coming too far forward. Fixed a rare bug that appeared when deleting fish. Additional sales pitches in trial version and a 'tour'. Changes to updater.

1.0001 4/12/06
Includes a 'cliff fix' where the left mouse button doesn't exit the saver until the mouse disappears after using the menu system. Also includes other bug fixes.

1.0 4/11/06
Version 1 has officially been released! Includes many enhancements including fish lingering, improved schooling, pecking at log and plants, chasing, improved feeding, moving gills & mouth and better eye movement. Collision detection has also been improved.

Note that the trial version now has only tiger barbs (3 saved) and has the occasional info screen popup.

For registered users the tank should no longer have the DreamAquarium.com logo at the bottom of screen. Also took a stab at fixing a bug that caused crashes on some machines.

---------------------------------

.9988 2/2/06
has been released and includes a new fishy face - the Chocolate Gourami! Not the world's most colorful fish, but he accents the wood nicely. i always wanted to keep a few of these for real, and now that dream has been "virtually" fulfilled.

.9986
Nothing too exciting, but some minor optimizations and a potential fix for some flickering problems. Slower machines may notice a slight performance increase. I reworked a lot of my GUI code, though you shouldn't notice anything different, and added a slider gadget in the "Add Fish" page in anticipation of more fish. From the "Add Fish" page you can also hit the 'delete' key to remove the last fish you added, which is handy. Delete (or backspace) is the new keyboard shortcut to delete the last fish added, although 'd' still works too. You should be able to use your handy-dandy "get latest version" to make the switch.

-------------------------------------
.9985 released - added a tiger barb and a zebra danio!

----------------------------------
.9983 Well, here goes nuthin'! Dream Aquarium is officially for sale with an introductory price of $16.95 (will go up to $19.95). We'll see if my online key-generating thingy works. This release pretty much just incorporates the changes needed to make this a licensed piece of software - a place to enter your license key, and for NEW users, there will be a limit of 7 fish when it restarts. This won't affect users who started out with version .9982 or earlier (i gotta look out for the old skool users!), so you won't lose anything by upgrading except the sound, which i decided to turn off since it's gonna change anyway, and i don't think many people actually use it. If everyone complains i can put it back in easy enough. There's also a link right from inside the aquarium to the purchase page, and to this forum! The sound menu has also been moved to "more stuff" to make room for more aquarium settings. The updater has also improved, it's now faster and the progress bar actually works, and it will once again automatically launches D.A. when it finishes upgrading. This won't happen if you try to upgrade from .9982 because you'll be using the old updater.

----------------------------------
.9982 Fixed a bug which may have been causing crashes in .9981

---------------------------------------------------------
.9981 Time for a new release! It's been a while. This new version includes:
- slight improvement in some of the fish's looks
- eyes now move!
- better lighting - log now shadows fish when they swim under it.
- improved bubbles (shape warbling and control over bubble speed)

---------------------------------------------------------

.9980
I have finally fixed the age-old "vector error / bad pitch change" bug and have also perhaps fixed the "message from NULL sender" bug as well.

I encourage people to try the "Get Latest Update" feature, and if that doesn't work, re-download the latest XP version and install. Win2K people should also able to install the XP version.
