Turbota—новый шрифт с асимметричными засечками от AndrijType. Достаточно мягок, чтобы отведать его в акциденции, и достаточно строг, чтобы использовать в длинных текстах. AndrijType вновь проявляет заботу о кириллической типографике, сдабривая шрифт альтернативными и экспериментальными формами.

Eqlaser — шрифт, имитирующий частотную гистограмму. Шрифт прекрасно подойдет для оформительских целей: реклама концертов, радиостанций и всего, что связано
с музыкой — вот его назначение. Шрифт хорошо работает в заголовках. Своеобразный рисунок знаков накладывает некоторые ограничения по использованию: набор
в несколько строк возможен, но не желателен. Также нежелателен набор мелким кеглем.

Дальнейшее развитие начертаний в ближайшее время не ожидается.

Лексика — акцидентный шрифт, в основу которого легла идея доминирования жесткой конструкции знаков в сочетании с отдельными мягкими деталями (шрифт 1998 года Legs). Каждое начертание содержит капитель, лигатуры и старостильные цифры. К выпуску планируются курсив.

Название Cless — сокращение от counterless, слова, которое очень четко описывает шрифт. Тем не менее, в отличие от большинства подобных шрифтов, Cless — действительно гуманистический шрифт, так как сделан на основе форм современного гуманистического гротеска.
Шрифт имеет расширенный набор знаков, включая кириллическую и центрально-европейскую кодировки; прекрасно подходит для применения в больших кеглях, например, на плакатах, а также идеален для встраивания изображений.

Акцидентный шрифт Хань Цзы основан на формах традиционных китайских иероглифов. Несмотря на декоративно-прикладное назначение шрифта и кажущуюся несерьезность, при его разработке использовалась таблица стандартных ключей уставного письма кайшу. Таким образом автору удалось достичь стилистической близости и ощущения подлинности рисунка даже в абсолютно чуждых оригиналу системах письма. Шрифт спроектирован молодым дизайнером из Санкт-Петербурга Александрой Егоровой и выпущен компанией ПараТайп в 2008.

Комплект астрономических знаков (условных обозначений Солнца, Луны, планет и других небесных тел, а также зодиакальных созвездий, фаз Луны и пр.), знаков восточного гороскопа и нескольких декоративных символов. Дизайнер Андрей Белоногов. Шрифт (под названием Астра) был награждён дипломом конкурса шрифтового дизайна TypeArt’05. Выпущен фирмой ПараТайп в 2008 году.

FastFingers™ (ФастФингерс™)
Набор знаков разработан дизайнером Андреем Белоноговым. Включает в себя изображения жестов, применяемых правшами и левшами в разных странах мира для усиления воздействия речи или самостоятельно. Шрифт (под названием Handmade) был награждён дипломом на Международном конкурсе шрифтового дизайна ATypI «буква:раз!», 2001. Выпущен фирмой ПараТайп в 2008 году.

Lustre™ (Люстрe™)
Неалфавитный шрифт, состоящий из 38 силуэтных и контурных изображений женской обуви и аксессуаров. Шрифт разработан дизайнером Яной Кутьиной. Выпущен фирмой ПараТайп в 2008 году.

Vataga™ (Ватага™)
Неалфавитный шрифт, разработанный на основе рисунков Яны Кутьиной. Включает в себя 82 изображения забавных физиономий, а также несколько характерных междометий. Дизайнеры Яна Кутьина, Андрей Белоногов. Выпущен фирмой ПараТайп в 2008 году.

Cliche™ (Клише™)
Трафаретный шрифт, разработан дизайнером Андреем Белоноговым. Некоторое несоответствие форм прописных и строчных знаков производит впечатление случайности, что характерно для самодельных трафаретных объявлений. Предназначен для применения в акциденции. Выпущен фирмой ПараТайп в 2008 году.

Brusque™ (Брусок™)
Оригинальный акцидентный шрифт. Дизайнер Андрей Белоногов. Ранее назывался Рубль и под этим названием был награждён дипломом первой степени в номинации «Шрифт» фестиваля графического дизайна «Графит», 1999 и дипломом на Международном конкурсе шрифтового дизайна ATypI «буква:раз!», 2001. Выпущен фирмой ПараТайп в 2008 году.

Оригинальный шрифт в нетрадиционной технике, разработанный дизайнером Юрием Гулитовым. Рисунок знаков основного начертания (Negative) был получен способом бумажной отдирки. К черному листу, на котором клеем ПВА рисовался знак, прикладывался лист белой бумаги. Через некоторое время белый лист отрывался, и на черной подложке оставалось то, что прилипло. Инверсное начертание (Positive) представляет результат компьютерного моделирования процесса отрывания черного листа от белого. Оба начертания как вместе, так и порознь могут использоваться в рекламных материалах, где требуется показать результат борьбы добра со злом и наоборот. Аналоговая версия шрифта была награждена дипломом 3-й Международной биеннале графического дизайна «Золотая пчела». В цифровой версии шрифт выпущен компанией ПараТайп в 2008 году.

Шрифт «Буратино» изначально был вырублен топором из полена, а затем оцифрован. Назван в честь деревянного мальчика, произведенного аналогичным способом. Содержит только прописные знаки, имеет вздорный непокладистый характер, но зато совершенно неприхотлив. Кроме использования в рекламе, шрифт может быть полезен при создании открыток, плакатов, комиксов, и прочей акцидентной продукции. Шрифт разработан Геннадием Фридманом и выпущен компанией ПараТайп в 2009 году.

Шрифт Circus Didot (Циркус Дидо) предс­тав­ля­ет собой конс­трук­ти­вист­скую пе­рера­бот­ку модели клас­си­цис­ти­чес­кой ан­тиквы. Ана­лизи­руя формы знаков, автор раз­ме­щал по шаб­ло­ну кон­ту­ра ба­зовые ге­омет­ри­чес­кие формы — тре­уголь­ни­ки, пря­мо­уголь­ни­ки, ок­ружнос­ти… По­лучен­ные конс­трук­ции, про­дол­жая ос­та­вать­ся зна­ками ан­тиквен­но­го шрифта, в то же время на­поми­нали работы русс­ких аван­гардис­тов 20-х годов прош­ло­го века. Это не­ожи­дан­ное отк­ры­тие на­толк­ну­ло на мысль сде­лать дизайн, в ко­тором стрем­ле­ние но­вос­тиль­ной ан­тиквы к ра­ци­ональ­нос­ти и ге­омет­рии до­веде­но до мак­си­мума. За основу был взят шрифт Дидо и ре­али­зован в стиле конс­трук­ти­виз­ма, под­черки­ва­ющем ге­омет­рию струк­турных ком­по­нен­тов знаков в их суп­ре­мати­чес­ком со­вер­шенс­тве. В про­цес­се работы, помимо ан­тиквы нового стиля, ис­поль­зо­вались идеи ри­сован­ных шриф­тов аван­гардис­тов и стиля ар-деко. Эк­ви­либ­ристи­ка и фокусы с пре­об­ра­зова­ни­ем форм объ­яс­ня­ют наз­ва­ние про­ек­та.

Перформанс (Performance) — это ком­плект перфо­рирован­ных площа­док, пред­ставляю­щих при внима­тельном рас­смотре­нии знаки шрифта. Конструк­ция знаков определя­ется набором отвер­стий, форма и располо­жение которых задают харак­тер и плас­тику начер­таний. Одной из важных особен­ностей дизай­на явля­ется отсут­ствие межбук­венных про­светов и меж­строчных интер­валов. Благо­даря этому текст, набран­ный Перфор­мансом, обра­зует связ­ную перфо­риро­ванную плос­кость наподо­бие блока поч­товых марок. Шрифт был раз­работан дизай­нером Алек­сеем Боковым. Выпу­щен компа­нией ПараТайп в 2010 году.

Компания PingWin Software (входит в ГК АйТи) сообщает о начале открытого бета-тестирования пакета шрифтов PingWi Typography (PWT). Гарнитуры, входящие в пакет, разрабатываются «с нуля», как метрические аналоги широко распространенных шрифтов: Tahoma, Arial, Courier, Verdana, Times New Roman.

Шрифт Private Sans (Приват Санс) — это динамичный гуманистический гротеск, основанный на каллиграфическом письме широким пером. Он обладает подвижным живым характером, что нечасто можно видеть в текстовых кириллических шрифтах. Знаки имеют обратный энтазис, плавное окончание штрихов и наклон внутреннего овала.

Гарнитура спроектирована Ольгой Карпушиной в трех начертаниях и является развитием ее дипломного проекта на курсе «Шрифт и типографика» Британской высшей школы дизайна в Москве.

Задуманный в 2007 году как часть несостоявшегося (очень жаль) совместного проекта шрифт Ромб, наконец, увидел свет.
Шрифт Romb рекомендуется для использования в акциденции.
Состоит из одного начертани, которое включает капительные знаки.
Эклектичный ретро-характер рисунка шрифтовых знаков определяется суммой впечатлений от работ художников и дизайнеров первой половины ХХ века.
Планируется дальнейшее продолжение работ по расширению состава кассы знаков и по добавлению начертаний.

Впервые появился в воскресенье 5.12.2010 года. Им печатается воскресное литературно-культурное приложение к газете Il Sole 24 Ore (Италия).

Флориан — текстовый шрифт в девяти начертаниях с капителью. Проект начал создаваться в январе 2010 года, с эскизов ширококонечным пером. Характерные особенности — открытая апертура, ассиметричные засечки, умеренный контраст, старостильные пропорции. Сочетание плавных линий и скосов создает убедительный характер, улучшает удобочитаемость. Основное назначение Флориана — длительное комфортное чтение. Семейство Florian имеет три градации по ширине знаков и три по насыщенности. Версия Pro имеет капитель, четыре комплекта цифр и позволяет набирать на основных европейских языках, а также некоторых языках СНГ. Мощные возможности Opentype будут полезны в современной журнальной верстке.

Florian is a text typeface available in nine styles including small caps. The project started in January 2010 as a derivation of broad-nib calligraphy practice. The main representative features are asymetrical serifs, open aperture, oldstyle proportions, and low contrast. Smooth curves and acute joints add to the sturdy character of the typeface and increase legibility. Florian works perfectly in long text setting in good printing conditions. Florian Family has three weights and three widths. Pro version is a full-fledged Opentype font with over 610 characters supporting major European languages and a few languages using extended Cyrillic. Its Opentype features provide powerful instruments for editorial design. Florian Basic is a reduced version with small caps and a limited number of Opentype features.

Сомелье — ленточная антиква, предназначенная для использования в акциденции и для набора коротких текстов. Характер шрифта органично впишется в фирменный стиль компаний, использующих в оформлении своих продуктов классические формы. Область применения шрифта широка. Буквы эффектно сработают как в оформлении упаковки косметических средств, так и в заголовках журнала мебельных интерьеров. Пропорции знаков шрифта немного заужены, что позволяет сэкономить место в макете. Окончания штрихов имеют утолщения и каплеобразные наплывы, указывающие на принадлежность шрифта скорее к антиквам, чем к малоконтрастным гротескам. Обратный энтазис штрихов, характерный для элегантных шрифтов, придает формам знаков естественность и усиливает акцидентные свойства. Несмотря на заметное смешение стилей в шрифте, изогнутые «природные» линии, приглашают отнести шрифт к стилю модерн. Шрифт обладает свойствами статической, полуоткрытой антиквы. Такие формы подчеркнут содержание спокойных, повествующих или представляющих текстов. Вместе с тем, графемы хорошо распознаются, и не уменьшают скорость чтения. Однако нужно помнить, что шрифт задумывался автором не как текстовый, поэтому не рекомендуется набирать тексты длиннее двух абзацев и использовать кегль меньше 14-го.

Circe — геометрический гротеск с человеческим лицом и многочисленными приятными дополнениями. Гарнитура состоит из 6 начертаний разной насыщенности, от тонкого до сверхжирного. Своим именем шрифт обязан как геометричности форм и процессу создания, превращённому в массовое развлечение, так и своеобразному, несколько опасному характеру. В то время как базовые формы Circe представляют собой достаточно спокойный геометрический гротеск с некоторыми гуманистическими чертами, альтернативные формы и знаки с росчерками могут полностью изменить характер шрифта. С одной стороны, дизайнер может наслаждаться невиданным до этого в кириллице разнообразием форм, но, с другой стороны, единственным ограничением для всего этого разнообразия служит только вкус и здравый смысл пользователя, так что в какой-то мере шрифт становится для него опасным, как колдунья Цирцея для Одиссеевых матросов. Сверхрасширенный знаковый состав Circe, включающий в себя как знаки для большинства европейских языков на основе латиницы и кириллицы, так и огромное количество альтернативных вариантов и вариантов с росчерками, организован в стилистические сеты, позволяющие быстро, удобно и гибко менять характер набора. Schlange is a rich typeface with rounded terminals. The family includes five sans serifs and five slab serifs in weights from ultra liight to bold. Schlange’s personality is determined by an open aperture
and quite large lower case characters in comparison with the upper case set.
Schlange’s personality is open and friendly, giving a text it’s used for a soft, warm appeal. Schlange
will work well as a display type (think titles, short magazine call-outs, ad banners, and such), but it’s
not a good choice for extensive bodies of academic text. Available in numerous weights, the typeface provides rich opportunities for mixing and matching and is great for typographic compositions.
These qualities make Schlange a dream type for a packaging designer. It will feel at home in design
for cosmetics or sweets, postcards, children’s books and menus.

Фатум™ (Fatum) — оригинальный сверхжирный брусковый шрифт со сведенным к минимуму внутренним пространством. Избыточная толщина штрихов и закрытость форм знаков превращает внутрибуквенные просветы в тонкие щели, как бы прорезанные в массиве литеры. Шрифт предназначен для использования в очень крупном кегле в плакатах, афишах, заголовках журналов, газет, веб-страниц, в качестве буквиц в книжном наборе, для создания типографических иллюстраций и композиций. Масса очка литер дает возможность вставлять в контур буквы фото, орнаменты или использовать Fatum для фонового набора.

Шрифт был разработан молодым дизайнером Светланой Морозовой под руководством Дмитрия Кирсанова и Василия Бирюкова. Толчком к формированию образа будущего шрифта послужила выставка работ конкурсов TDC (Type Directors Clib), которая проходила в Москве в 2011 году.

Millie is a stressed, geometric script who spends her days as industrial lettering and her nights paired with blackletter on the patches of motorcycle gangs. Millie was weighted by the conventions of broad nib calligraphy, inspired by the Milwaukee Tools logo, and finds herself best used in logos and titles. She was designed to be used on about a 20 degree angle, though she looks just fine on a level plane.

By using opentype, many ligatures, and two sets of stylistic alternates, Millie was developed to look great with any string of letters. Access the first stylistic set for a disconnected script look, and the second set for even more connections and fluid script than standard. Millie Round takes the edge off a bit, giving the entire set a more approachable and versatile feel.

About this font family
A display sans for one paragraph (or shorter) length text: quotes, openings, titles, etc. Sure, you could use it for body copy and get away with it, but that’s not where the typeface shines. The bigger - the better. The font has many, many languages and features. More than you'll ever need, stuff like small caps punctuation or Bulgarian/Serbian alternates (see the included PDF). Neris is the name of my city’s river. While it doesn't really translate into anything meaningful, it looks good in both Lithuanian and English while showcasing most of the distinct features: slanted /e, semi-serif /i, stylized ink traps, curved sharp joints. Made with Glyphs – a great app.

It started with an italic, or to be more precise, half an italic. The slanted styles of Urge Text exhibit a certain bipolarity, the tops of glyphs having a standard italic form, the bottoms of glyphs being more Roman in their construction. This sturdy footing really locks the italics to the baseline, making them very legible while still being distinct from the uprights. The same bipolar approach didn't work very well in upright styles, so the Romans are more toned down.

Ranging from the almost monoline, Egyptian style light weights to higher contrast ‘Modern’ bolds, there is much potential for use in typographically demanding scenarios.

The family consists of six weights, normal and condensed widths, all with italics, making a total of 24 fonts; it’s a highly usable text typeface with an array of OpenType features.

All styles include small caps, multiple figure styles (proportional- and tabular-, oldstyle and lining, small cap proportional figures, numerators, denominators, superscript and subscript), standard ligatures, alternate forms (stylistic sets), automatic fractions, case sensitive forms, and a handy (perhaps!) ‘percent off’ ligature in the discretionary ligatures feature.

This is Schizotype’s most ambitious release to date, with great language support and mathematical symbols. Urge Text should prove to be a useful addition to your typographic arsenal.

“Quixo” is an onomatopoeic exaggeration. If you are a good listener, you will know that the word comes directly from the sound of dipping a brush into a bottle of ink. It is also the sound of that same bottle, dropping on the floor: “Quix-O!!”.

FF Quixo is a tool-based typeface family, based on the contrast of the pointed pen. Conceived from Frank Grießhammer’s graduation project at the Type and Media program at KABK Den Haag, the typeface is rooted in handwriting and explores the concept of increasing tool size in relation to weight. The visual influence of the tool is barely visible in the Regular weight, but more extreme in the Black one. The incorruptible result is a diverse spectrum of 12 styles (6 weights with Roman and Italic in each) suitable for compact and concise passages of text.

FF Quixo plays on various sides of creative type – headline and text, bold and fine. It is a typeface that can show a playful side without looking goofy and is equipped with all the features and considerations necessary to produce complex typography. It feels at home whenever a touch of personality, whim, and symbols are required, but also provides the necessary precision for more functional applications.

About this font family
Trump Gothic is a reconception of ideas from Georg Trump’s seminal 1955 Signum typeface and its later reworking (Kamene) by Czech designer Stanislav Marso. Originally cobbled together for a variety of film projects in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the Trump Gothic family was made available for the general public in 2005. Shortly thereafter, it became a common sight in movie credits, on posters and magazine covers, in fashion branding and on corporate web sites.

Though countless attempts have been made to emulate it, its unique totality and attractiveness to layout designers was never really topped. Its appeal is largely due to its double-duty toolbox: An economic functionality that allows it to pack large amounts of information in small spaces, and a clear, modular aesthetic that gives it the ability to emphasize short text in large sizes, all without sacrificing legibility or giving in to dated or over-rehashed industrial gothic forms.

The typeface was redrawn, refitted, optimized and greatly expanded in 2013, and the result is Trump Gothic Pro, a multiscript family of six fonts, each containing over 1020 glyphs and a wealth of OpenType features, including small caps, caps-to-small-caps, stylistic alternates, unicase/monocase alternates, fractions, ordinals, class-based kerning, and support for Latin, Cyrillic and Greek locales.

Шрифт Foros™ (Форос™) относится к классу современных гуманистических гротесков. Гарнитура состоит из 8 начертаний четырех насыщенностей, каждое из которых расширено комплектом знаков «юникейз», оформленным в отдельные стилистические сеты. Шрифт разрабатывает тему соединения грубоватых геометрических и открытых гуманистических форм, демонстрируя одновременно и упрямство, и деликатность. Слегка заквадраченные формы овалов придают рисунку Фороса основательность и устойчивость, а косые срезы окончаний диагональных штрихов К и R и скругления в местах присоединений полуовалов к основным штрихам (B,D,P,R) добавляют эмоциональности. Эти особенности формы создают образ, обеспечивающий широкий спектр применения гарнитуры в акцидентном наборе.

Новый шрифт Олега Карпинского, как это ни странно, спроектирован в традиционном стиле и не направлен на утверждение нового взгляда на кириллицу, что характерно для большинства его работ. И хотя фирменные олеговы формы кириллических знаков все-таки в шрифте имеются, они скромно расположены в самом конце в четвертом стилистическом сете, что называется, на любителя.
Тем не менее, шрифт не лишен новаторства и оригинальности. Для всех восьми начертаний шрифта были разработаны дополнительные комплекты знаков, называемые «юникейз». Уникамеральный алфавит, или юникейз, — это алфавит, в котором нет строчных и прописных знаков, как в латинице или кириллице, а есть только один комплект. Примерами таких алфавитов являются арабский и иврит.

Но несмотря на то, что наши алфавиты бикамеральные, иногда дизайнеры любят конструировать псевдоюникейз, смешивая в одном регистре строчные и прописные формы, выровненные по высоте. Обычно делают такой комплект, подмешивая к прописным какое-то количество строчных, увеличенных до роста прописных. Помимо оригинальничанья, в этом есть и рациональное зерно. Дизайнеры часто используют набор прописными на вывесках, в формах для заполнения, небольших растровых экранах и прочих местах, где жалко оставлять место для выносных элементов. Но конструкции прописных знаков менее привычны глазу и хуже распознаются, поскольку мы в основном читаем тексты, набранные строчными. Юникейз отчасти решает эту проблему. Поэтому в дополнение к прописным знакам обычно включают не все строчные, отличающиеся по конструкции, а только те, которые не имеют выносных элементов.

The idea to add an original sans-serif to the Tyfa’s Roman got Jan Solpera at teatime in Domanín during the “typographic weather” at the end of October 2013. We started to work on this interesting task immediately. We already had something to build upon: Týfa left his opinion on sans-serif type in several versions of Juvenis, then Antikva itself offers a wide range of building blocks for a sans-serif alphabet. The proportions are chosen so that the new sans would combine well with the favourite Academica. It has five weights with italics, and small caps, Cyrillics, numerals, ligatures and other OpenType features coincide exactly with the Tyfa Antikva. It can be used everywhere you need an extremely readable and stylish font.

The style of lettering that inspired Surveyor is an invention of the early nineteenth century, born of the material properties of copperplate engraving and the informational needs of cartography. A letter with compact proportions, delicate serifs, and a sinewy italic designed to follow rivers and coastlines, map lettering invited endless variation to help distinguish different kinds of data. A map that used italics for rivers and canals might use its roman for churches and villages, small capitals for bays and harbors, and a grand, sweeping arc of italic swash capitals for the names of the oceans. Inch for inch, few things have ever matched engraved maps for the density of their information, the range of their typographic vocabulary, or their pure visual delight.

Metron is so far the most ambitious typeface made to order in the Czech Republic. Despite the fact that for a number of years it has not been used for the purpose for which it was designed, every inhabitant of Prague is still well aware of its typical features. Metron Pro was commissioned by the Transport Company of the Capital City of Prague in 1970 to be used in the information system of the Prague Metro. It was first published in the manual of the Metroprojekt company in 1973 and then used to the full, under the author’s supervision, for lines “A” and “C”. Since 1985 Rathouský's system has been disappearing from the Prague Metro; it survives only in the form of metal letters at its stations and at some stations of the Czechoslovak Railways.

In 2014 we're mentioning the 90th birthday of Jiří Rathouský's. It’s a good opportunity for updating and re-introducing of his Metron. Extended was the choice of figures and fractions, new currency signs added, diacritics revised, etc., but above all the newly designed Cyrillics including true SmallCaps. Now we have six weights plus italics, where the tone of the basic style is even closer to the original. Ten years back we've had the feeling that this typeface should again take a part of Prague’s traffic system and today, when revisiting of all the fonts, the feeling turned to certainty. The main feature of this typeface is namely a noticeability a property above all welcomed in rush of platforms.

The influence of Scotland in typefounding belies the nation’s small size. Marr Sans, a characterful grotesque design, was inspired by a typeface from the 1870s found in the work of James Marr & Co. in Edinburgh, successors to Alexander Wilson & Sons. From a few lines in three sizes, and only one weight, Paul Barnes and Dave Foster have expanded the family from Thin to Bold, plus an Ultra Black weight, a wider companion to the six lighter weights. The result is a family of 6 weights with matching italics, which works perfectly for corporate design & editorial design. Combined with Brix Slab, high and complex typographical challenges can be solved.

The Brix Sans OpenType fonts feature small caps, five variations of numerals, arrows and an extended character set to support Central and Eastern European as well as Western European languages.

The characteristic ‘French face’ was originally made in 1899 under the supervision of Joseph Pinel. Thus, what was originally French 10 pt. Nº 2, got its present name.

Coen Hofmann digitized the font from a batch of very incomplete, damaged and musty drawings, which he dug up in Altrincham. He redrew all characters, bringing up the hairstrokes somewhat in the process. The result is a roman and italic, while the roman font also includes Small Caps.

Core Escher is an optical illusion type family which has two sub-families: Core Escher A and B. Core Escher A has impossible shapes inspired by the optical illusion works of artist M.C. Escher.
The letterforms in this type family are structurally twisted and complicated but it looks simple because of its simple strokes. And for easy color variations, it split into two fonts, Core Escher A Left and Right.
Core Escher B has a different kind of optical illusion. The letters of Core Escher B look like three dimentions by just putting thin lines on bold letters. Also B has two sub-families that have different viewpoints.

Genplan Pro is a display family of five typographic layers with a retro feeling. They could be stacked upon each other or could be used separately. Genplan Pro is based on the lettering in the title of the general plan of Moscow of 1935. It supports all European languages including Greek, and many Cyrillic languages including the Asian ones. It has uppercase and small-caps letters.

It also includes currency signs for Russian Rouble, Ukrainan Hryvnia and Kazakh Tenge. It has many alternate glyphs, Ukrainian regular ligatures, discretionary ligatures, language based alternates for Polish (the kreska), Albanian (the shape of J) and Bulgarian (triangular Д and Л).

As a typeface designed for display purposes, it’s great for use in logos and headlines.

A fiery display face rooted in one of typography’s most significant periods, Quarto is a study in contrast and control.


Beginning in 1570, the Flemish punchcutter Hendrik van den Keere created some of the world’s first display types, large-size alphabets for choirbooks that were designed to be read at a distance. These typefaces, with their dark strokes and compact proportions, grew out of the gothic tradition of the north, and were characteristic of a regional style that came to be known as the “Dutch taste.” This aesthetic would flower into the Baroque style that would dominate printing for the next 150 years, giving typography some of its most enduring typefaces, including Van Dijck, Janson Text, and Caslon.


Quarto is a modern adaptation of the Van den Keere style, designed for use at sixteen point and above. We selected Van den Keere’s Two-Line Double Pica Roman of 1570–1573 as a foundation for the family, an arresting design marked by striking dramatic tensions. Its consistently dark strokes are offset by bright, crisp serifs; its resolute verticality is punctuated by moments of lavish roundness. This theme of “controlled contrast” helped propel Quarto into territory unexplored by Van den Keere, including an italic whose fluid motions are checked by a steadfast rhythm, and heavier weights whose density is invigorated by sudden geometric turns and sharp corners. Like the Baroque models that inspired it, Quarto’s large x-height, short descenders, and trim serifs invite both tight tracking and solid leading, making it an excellent choice for headlines both in print and on screen.

Шрифт чемпионата мира по футболу-2018 в России получил название "Душа"

Как и положено грандиозному событию мирового масштаба, грядущий Чемпионат Мира по футболу, что должен состояться в 2018 году в России, постепенно обзаводится официальной символикой. В конце октября ведущие веб-дизайнеры страны представили разработанный логотип мундиаля, который тут же подвергся шквалу критики с обвинениями в непрофессионализме, примитивизме и отсутствии вкуса. Также был разработан и специальный шрифт ЧМ-2018, посредством которого будет оформляться вся рекламная, информационная и прочая продукция, имеющая хоть малейшее отношение к Чемпионату.

Боле того, данный шрифт, имеющий весьма оригинальное написание, уже получил официальное название, емкое и очень красивое – «Душа».
Организаторы пока не сообщают, появится ли данный шрифт в свободном пользовании после проведения ЧМ-2018 и смогут ли им пользоваться все желающие для оформления веб-страниц.
Пока только известно, что официальный слоган и графический стиль чемпионата будут представлены в 2015 году, талисман – в 2016 году, а мяч разработают к 2017 году.

The thing is that many sans-serif typefaces are usually intended for universal usage. But sometimes faces that work fine in body text look not so good in large point sizes for display purposes when all the contrast in non-contrast sans-serif, or ink traps, become visible to the naked eye.

Every designer solves this problem in his own way. We offer a drastic solution in our Stem: a sans-serif with optical sizing. The first part of the type family, Stem Display, is for use in largest point sizes, from 36 pt indefinitely. Stem Display consists of 12 faces of widths from Hairline to Bold, and it has true italics. The development of Stem type family will include Stem Text for body text and “traditional”, universal use, and Stem Caption for small point sizes.

Stem is a geometric sans-serif with semi-closed aperture, large x-height and modern proportions of uppercase letters, like in famous Avenir and Gotham. Its important feature is a professionally designed and carefully tested Cyrillic glyph set.

Характерная особенность шрифта — альтернативный набор строчных знаков, в значительной мере изменяющий рисунок текста. Шрифт PT New Year 2015 (http://www.paratype.ru/store/free/PTNY2015.zip) — подарок компании ПараТайп своим партнерам и всем легальным пользователям шрифтов. Рисунки, выполненные тонким пером, по стилю относятся к начертанию Aphrosine Regular и, вероятно, впоследствии станут частью этого шрифта.
В составе знаков несложно найти 26 разных снежинок, 9 виньеток, 7 поздравительных надписей и 5 новогодних картинок. Чтобы праздничный комплект был полнее, позиции трех валют (Рубль, Доллар, Евро) заполнены изображением одного и того же числа — 2015.
